Melissa H. Abu-Adas, CELA*

Melissa has been helping clients throughout New Jersey with their estate planning and elder law needs for over a decade. Melissa’s practice focuses on estate planning, elder law, wills, trusts, long-term care planning, Medicaid applications, guardianships, special needs trusts, and estate administration.

Melissa is certified as an elder law attorney by the ABA-accredited National Elder Law Foundation.  She has been named on the 2023 New Jersey Super Lawyers list.

Melissa graduated from Rutgers School of Law – Newark where she was a member of the Federal Tax Law Clinic. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Victor Ashrafi in the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.

Melissa is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the State Advocacy Committee.  Melissa is a Director of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys where she previously served as President and Legislative Committee Chair.  She is also Vice Chair for the New Jersey State Bar Association – Elder Law & Disability Section.  

Melissa is a frequent speaker for New Jersey and national continuing legal education seminars, including for the National Business Institute and the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Melissa grew up in Toms River and now lives in Cinnaminson with her husband, two children, and two rescue dogs. In her free time, she enjoys running and spending time with her kids.
