Medicaid Applications

If you or a loved one is in need of long-term care, such as skilled nursing home care or home and community-based care, Medicaid may be an option to cover the costs of such care.

Medicare does not cover long-term care except in certain limited circumstances, such as short-term rehabilitation stays.   Medicaid may cover the cost of long-term care for qualified applicants, including skilled nursing home, assisted living and home care in New Jersey.

In order to qualify for Medicaid, certain income and asset criteria must be met.   Medicaid has a five-year look back period.   Transfers of assets within five years of an application for Medicaid benefits result in a Medicaid transfer penalty, with certain exceptions.

We handle Medicaid applications as well as planning to establish eligibility for Medicaid.
